Contests & Challenges: Present & Upcoming

Contests & Challenges: Present & Upcoming

With the active community regaining much of its former strength, sponsored contests have begun again, starting with the [ECTOs] Zero-Pay Giveaway #001 contest to raffle off some DoA Gems. It's FREE TO ENTER for eligible participants, so have a look and enter if you can:

[ECTOs] Zero-Pay Giveaway #001 Contest Page

...BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!
Sometime over the coming week, [ECTOs] Zero-Pay Giveaway #002 will begin as well, this time to raffle off an entire stack of Superb Charr Carvings among other things. It should commence before Zero-Pay Giveaway #001 has ended, so there will be some overlap there. Not a concern, as that giveaway will also be free to enter.

...BUT WAIT, THERE'S EVEN MORE... WITH MORE PAYOFF!
After both of the planned Zero-Pay Giveaways are finished, we will have our first [ECTOs] ECTO Buy-In Jackpot contest of 2010, which costs ectos to enter, but the payoff is HUGE for the multiple winners. For those new to the community who are unfamiliar with how our [ECTOs] ECTO Buy-In Jackpots work, head over to our Sponsored Contests & Challenges forum and read up on some of the previous ones.

CHALLENGES ARE ON THEIR WAY AS WELL!
Sometime over the next couple of weeks, once I finalize exactly how I'm going to handle it (and I may converse with a few community members on our voice server/forums to decide the best course of action), we'll be having our first-ever [ECTOs] Cumulative Mission Time Attack Challenge. We've had a Guild Wars Time Attack for individual missions/areas/etc. within the ECTOs Community for quite some time now. (See the Guild Wars Time Attack thread in our Trophy Case forum) Our Cumulative Mission Time Attack Challenges will consist of multiple missions whose completion times are added together for a lump-sum Challenge Total which will then be judged as compared to all the other submitted Challenge Totals.

Stay tuned for more details.

ANYONE ELSE WANT TO TAKE THE REINS?
Note that these are only the Sponsored Contests & Challenges that I have personally planned for the ECTOs Community. Anyone with the creativity, savvy, and poise to handle all facets of the Contest/Challenge process (takes a LOT of work!) is more than welcome to devise and hold their own. If you have an idea that you need some help taking a little further, feel free to discuss it in-game, on our voice server, or in the forums with the rest of us. Together, we could get your idea off of the ground!

As always, thanks for supporting the greater ECTOS Community.

Vanquishing Cantha and Tarnished Coast

Vanquishing Cantha and Tarnished Coast

Already started the Vanquishes, I'll try to do some every day, starting around 10:00pm Eastern Time. So, join the fun, bring some DP removers, lockpicks and be sure to have your discord/sab necros ready in case we have to duo any of the areas. Here's the list of the areas I'll be doing(I'll update the list daily so if the area is still there, is either in progress or on the wait.)

Cantha:

Minister Cho's Estate
Kinya Province
Panjiang Peninsula
Haiju Lagoon
Zen Daijun
Bukdek Byway
Wajjun Bazaar
Xaquang Skyway
Shenzun Tunnels
Sunjiang District
Archipelagos
Gayla Hatchery

Tarnished Coast:(Most likely I'll start this areas when done with Cantha, unless I state otherwise in game)

For Asuran Points I'll do a triple vanquish, starting in Riven Earth>Alcazia Tangle>Magus Stones, or the other way around, which will probably take about 2 and a half hours. So if you're coming let me know so we can set an hour for all to come. Just need 20k points till max rank so probably a run or 2 will do the trick. I might as well do Arbor bay to finish vanquishing all Tarnished Coast. What a Face

DoA Glaiveway - Let's Do This!

Our roster count is rising and things are starting to get active around here again. It's awesome to see. Time to start forming group runs! We'll start by organizing some DoA Glaiveway guild runs and go from there. Ideally it would be great to get some runs in sometime over the next several days!

Have a glance at the DoA Glaiveway team build in our Strategy & Farming forum and respond here with what classes you can/want to run as well as an optimal day/time when we can expect your availability and interest for this!

The Runs Have Begun Again, Starting With Frostmaw's

Last night a bunch of us decided to form a balanced party for Frostmaw's Burrows dungeon in Hard Mode. We threw the run up in guild chat beforehand and even managed to get a couple of new members onto our ECTOs Community GSC Voice Chat server for the run! I'm happy to note that the run went VERY smooth (one party member - Goredag - dropped due to net issues, however) and only took around an hour, give or take.

Most importantly, the run was a big success because it was the unofficial start of ECTOs returning to full-fledged guild runs! Finally, after a couple weeks of hard work on the part of everyone, we now have enough consistent activity to form runs again! We had a ton of people online last night and a ton of interest in Frostmaw's even if it was only balanced. I don't think we can label We Farm Your [ECTOs] as a "rebuilding" guild anymore, and in a few days when it's time for the next round of Guru recruitment to start I will at the very least adjust or remove that part from our ad entirely.

WE ARE BACK. Hell yeah. What a feeling. /flashdance.

Community Runs! Post Some Ideas!

Community Runs! Post Some Ideas!

Seeing that we are becoming larger by the day, it won't be long before we can start doing regular community runs/SC's and anything else you want to do. It is even a possibility to start doing some of these things now. I have been reading around, and even after the "nerfs" there's not many changes to a few SC's. FoW being one of them, and those that know me, know I'm a fan of FoW. So id like to start doing nightly runs if at all possible.

This thread is also for others to post things they want to do with the guild, so we can get some good old guildie bonding time Wink
