Canthan New Year 2012
Guild Wars Festival Event

The 2012 Canthan New Year's Festival begins at noon Pacific on Thursday, February 2nd, 2012 and will end at noon Pacific on Monday, February 6th, 2012. On Sunday, February 5th, the Celestial Dragon will appear in Shing Jea Monastery every three hours to sample Canthan cuisine.

The finale is set to take place on Super Bowl Sunday, for those of you who care.

Additional Community Canthan New Year 2012 Notes:

1. For those of you who plan to spend a great deal of time this weekend AFK'ing on the Shing Jea Monastery Boardwalk Rings, it would be appreciated if you'd set your in-game status to 'Away' so people don't get the impression you are being anti-social. Thanks!

2. Piles Of Glittering Dust are needed for one of the quests, so be sure to stock up early in case the materials trader sells out of it. (Note: The materials trader actually hasn't sold out of dust during Canthan New Year for the past few years, so you should be okay.)

Triple Key/Lockpick Drops And Double Your Luck Points

From Noon Pacific on Friday, January 27th, 2012, until 11:59 Pacific Sunday Night, January 29th, 2012, you'll find plenty of keys and lockpicks with the triple drop rate. Plus, you'll get Double Lucky/Unlucky Points for using lockpicks on chests!

From Noon Pacific on Friday, January 20th, 2012, until 11:59 PM Pacific on Sunday Night, January 22nd, 2012, players will receive double faction for participating in alliance battles.

Eye Of The North Reputation Weekend
Guild Wars Weekend Special

From Noon Pacific on Friday, January 13th, 2012, until 11:59 PM Pacific on Sunday Night, July 15th, 2012, players who complete quests and defeat foes while under the effect of a shrine bonus will earn double Asura, Deldrimor, Ebon Vanguard, and Norn reputation points. Points for completed books are unaffected.

From Noon Pacific on Friday, January 6th, 2012 until 11:59 PM Pacific on Sunday Night, January 8th, 2012, players will receive double faction and double Gladiator points within Random Arena.

This week Nicholas is in Regent Valley collecting 3 Red Iris Flowers per gift. Yes, that is exactly the position where he originally was in with the update that put him in the game (2.5 years ago). Assuming this means the cycle has come full-circle (a safe bet), you can officially start PLANNING AHEAD for upcoming Nick weeks.
