| For those interested in getting in I'll try a quick guide to work around it: Locate the GW.exe file (Most likely found in C:/Program Files/Guild Wars/) Right click on the GW.exe -> Make shortcut Now right click on the shortcut Where it says Target: It should say something similar to "C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" Type a space after the quotation mark and use these -email youremail@someplace.com-password yourpassword -character "Your Character Name" So at the end you should have this on your shortcut in the target line: "C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -email youremail@someplace.com -password omgpassword -character "Awesome GWAMM" Hope that helps! |

| So wait a minute.... now ANet found a way to fuck up LOGINS?
Let's update the list of random ANet fuck-ups, shall we?
Abaddon's Mouth end Titan not attacking for 2+ years
Resetting the Rare Material Traders to minimum prices during mid-day back in 2006 (read: PEAK HOURS) AFK'ing Lucky/Unlucky titles on the Boardwalk Rings games. Adds MASSIVE lag to those who are actually playing (Still a problem) Bridge to bonus Harrbringer in Gate Of Pain was turned invisible (Still a problem) Some U-Map lakes and bridges were turned invisible (Still a problem)
Heart Of The Shiverpeaks end chest run nerf attempt #1 - ie. "Let's put a mob in front of an open door that runners can run past! THAT'LL STOP 'EM!"
Up until 2008, gifts were dropped on the ground for people during events, causing MASSIVE lag issues
Tonic sounds in town
Zaishen Coins not initially able to be put into Xunlai Storage
Adding additional Xunlai Pane(s) not working correctly for some people
Up until the Dhuum UW update(s), the Unwanted Guests quest was bugged for 2+ years
'09 Wintersday Hats not dropping for people
Tweaking Pet Panel code in some way but not testing it, causing game crashes to players for just opening it
Logins
SMH.
There are tons more examples, but these are what I came up with off the top of my head. This game has had lots of minor screw-ups and what-not, and that's to be expected in complex MMOs such as this. However, the list above are things that should've in no way made it through testing to final builds. If ANet actually played their own game, actually tested their own game, none of that would've happened. ___________________________________________________ |

| No, they basically had bad typing. the T in "the" is supposed to be lowercase but apparently it wasn't? ___________________________________________________ Amaretto Creme (main account) || Angel Mumiah (second account). | Something else to add to ANet's fuck-ups list: The Canthan New Year 2010 page originally stated this: | Quote: | | In addition to the items mentioned above, players will receive a special reward just for attending the end of this year's festival in Shing Jea Monastery—a Celestial Tiger miniature! Carry the divine beast's luck with you throughout the year! |
That would've been another overstock in inventories like the original Miniature Pigs were. People were confused and Regina eventually clarified this in a Guru thread with:
| Regina Buenaobra wrote: | | Looks like an old piece of text slipped into the web site text. We're sorry about the confusion. We'll have our web team correct that as soon as possible. So, here's a clarification from the Live Team: You obtain the Celestial Tiger randomly from the Lunar Fortunes (just like last year). |
That settles that. ANet doesn't even have the time to re-read one webpage of Canthan New Year text before logging off to avoid confusion like this. Fantabulous. A poster named -Vodka- on Guru summed it up best:
