Jesus christ. I knew that name sounded familiar. That's all we need - descendants of Gwen running around. I want Gwen OUT of my fucking Guild Wars!

(Granted, seeing as the Charr probably ran a train on Gwen while she was held captive, Gwen's "descendants" could be furry and fanged over in Ascalon. Just sayin'........)

- Divinity's Reach... Wow. The town actually looks like a .......... town! Certainly a far cry from the NPC parking lots we have as towns in Guild Wars 1. That big building that they pan&scanned on looked awesome.

- The Gun Axes that the Charr have = badass. WTB: 15^50, r7, old-school.

- Charr Effigies are my 2nd favorite enemy in GW1 (second only to the Burning Titans). Good to see they are in GW2. (ANet, give me that damn Charr Effigy minipet!)

- The Charr have a Colosseum! Neat, although something like that is totally in their character.

- Rata Sum. I see from this trailer and the older one that they've really fixed up the place. The newer, rounded-shoulder Golems look pretty neat.

- The Sylvari look like personified vegetables to me. I don't know. The jungle area that they live in looked really awesome though. Way cooler than the Maguuma Jungle looked in GW1. I actually want to go there now instead of skipping it.

- The art style is fantastic throughout. As mentioned before, the Jungle areas look great. The Krytan areas that the humans dwell in look awesome. The dark atmosphere for the Charr looks awesome too. The Norn.. eh. Snow, yay. I hate snowy areas in pretty much every damn videogame so whatev.

- I love the theme that plays in the background. (The one that was also used in the older trailer.)

- Some parts look no better than GW1 technically. For instance, the close-up shot of all the humans in Divinity's Reach. Other parts - ie. the wide-open areas and the parts with lots of moving people/objects/etc - really tell me that this game is going to need fairly high-end hardware to run smoothly (although it should still run on low-end hardware with settings turned down.)

- 5 Playable Races. Who wants to bet a stack of ectos that you are only going to get 4 character slots right out of the box? I hope they are prepared to offer purchaseable character slots right away, as I will probably buy several extras.

ANet is really doing a good job with GW2 thus far. Sucks that it isn't coming out anytime soon (I want to play it NOW!), but oh well. Good to see some people that get paid by ANet are actually doing something productive over there. Hopefully the GW1 team gets off their ass and gives us enough to keep us mostly around 'til GW2 hits beta. All in all, if GW2 is as good depth-wise and feature-wise as it looks artistically from the trailers, then ANet have a HUGE hit on their hands..... again, especially considering it's free to play.

The dragon they showed looked like Kralkatorrik, which would make sense because that's one of the main antagonists.

Of all the races, Charr and Asura really stood out for me. The visuals in Rata Sum make it appear that they have stepped up their capabilities, and it will be interesting to see what they can do with golems now. And of course, it's entertaining to call everyone bookah. As for the Charr, see all of the reasons above.

Damn, I really don't want to wait another year.

I really want Felicia Day (asuran from the trailer) to do some voice acting for the game.

Tide look at the Sylvari again (agreed one of them does look veggie like LOL) but I think one scene it was several with diferent skin type/textures and profession class armors.

Definitly the town/ outposts turned into cities and the graphics are enoguh to melt over, did anyone else notice it looked like people were entering buildings? I hope you can and it wasn't just a zoning door. Very Happy

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
edit: Killian just brought up a good point ... all the areas look like prophecies/GWEN areas. so maybe following the same as gw1 the release of each campaign... might happen? or this is the only map finished to show and factions and nightfall are not done OR since humans are rare in the time of this new lore that the architecture is all of sylvari, asuran and charr.... and humans have scrubby outpost? LOL. I thought a couple parts reminded me of Fable and a few other MMOs but I wonder if the spot that looks like the mansion in Fable is a guild hall and not a city... although I didn't see much of rangers and looked like one type of bow skin I have already seen I am happy. and want to go swim with fishiies ... wonder if they emplimented fishing or gardening. HAHAHAH!

Well, if you read the lore for GW 2, it tells you that Cantha cannot be reached due to the undead Orrians that patrol the waters in their ships (this is due to whichever dragon it is that rises from Orr's depths... it uses them as battle slaves basically). They take over any ship that attempts to pass, and turn them into another undead ship. Also, I believe the Crystal Desert is taken over, once again, by Palawa Joko, and I believe it cannot be passed, and since you can't sail to the southern tip for the same reason you can't get to Cantha...

hmmm, I just figured it meant you'd have to defeat the dragons to gain passage. didnt think of that.

That might be part of the game. WHo knows. I mean, if you defeat the Orr dragon (I honestly forget its name) I don't see why its minion armies wouldn't collapse as well, seeing as it's the dragon's will that they are there to begin with. -shrug-

Cantha and Elona will be expansion material. There's no doubt in my mind.

PostSubject: A bit more GW2 Info...   Tue 8 Dec - 10:46

If anyone is interested, and I know I was, this was recently posted on the GW2 Guru forums:

http://www.guildwars2guru.com/forum/guild-wars-2-explores-five-t1952.html?t=1952

A bit more indepth about what we saw in the latest GW2 video/ My favorite thing to see was that the Sylvari, Caithe, is said to have blades and her description sounds very Assassin to me. One of the theories/questions still in up in the air is whether or not certain professions will be Race specific or better played on certain races IE Warriors on Norn or Charr and Eles/Mes on Asuras. Or something to that affect.

Anyways I found it interesting and thought I'd share for those of who who don't check out the GW2 forums!

It wouldn't make any sense for certain classes to only be attributed to certain races, as these races in GW1 have all the existing classes within them. Look at the structures and the newly-built world around them. I don't think the dragons fucked the world up as much as the hype says they did. At the very least, most of the races seem to have recovered enough where it appears they aren't limited by the dangers around them any longer. I don't see any reason why certain races would've stopped using certain classes.

However, I still maintain that the class system in GW2 will be different from the one in GW1, so this is a moot point.

Are you sure its Felicia Day? Does not sound like the girl from The Guild at all. Is there a cast list or something for the trailer? Because I really don't think its her.

There's a link somewhere on the forums to another thread on gw2 guru forums about the cast list for the trailer. I just don't know where it is. o.o I thought it was in this thread, guess not. O.o;

Edit: Um, I found it, but I'm just gonna merge the two since they have to do with this trailer....

Edit 2: And yeah....
Quote:
Zojja the asura is voiced by Felicia Day (Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, The Guild, Buffy the Vampire Slayer).
