PostSubject: Farming The "Snowball Dominance" Quest.   2009-12-22, 9:25 pm

Well here is a guide/topic about the Snowball Dominance quest and why strength of snow shouldn't be the only quest you should farm this Wintersday.

The quest reward for completing this quest is:

-5000 exp.
-500 gold
-500 vanguard rep points Very Happy
-10 Candy Cane Shards
- 5 Frosty Tonics

Ok now this is a pretty amazing award for a quest. Unfortunate though, a good quest reward usually means a long quest. Well not for this quest. This quest can be completed in 1 minute and 30 secs if you get good at it and around 2-3 mins if you're decent.

At first I set out to do this quest to max my vanguard. Vanguard is the hardest EoTN rep to do and is usually a nice big long grind for points. Starting from R5 I would need 134,000 points to achieve R10. 134,000 divided by 500 (the quest reward of points) = 268. This means you need to do this quest 268 times for R10 but it's not as bad as it first seems. Personally, I would be amazingly bored doing a quest 268 times but keep in mind the amazing reward and the fact that you get to throw snowballs at people (that still does get boring after a while).

So this is your total loot after you do this quest from R5 to R10 Vanguard.
- 1,340,000 exp.
- 134 plat.
- 2680 shards (About 10.5 stacks, these are also used for getting Wintersday gifts and for candy cane weapons)
- 1340 Frosty Tonics ( Around 5.5 stacks and worth 2 points per use to your party animal track.)
- Maxing the longest EoTN rep title in the game and making a good amount of cash while doing it. You can make around 250 plat from selling stacks of shards at 25k ea and around 300-350 plat from selling your tonics at 200-250g ea. In total you can get 650-750 plat by doing this. Some may not make as much due to them just wanting to max their rep and they are already at r8 or something like that.

How To Do The Quest:

1. Complete "The three wise Norn" and "Charr-Broiled plans" from Lieutenant Thackeray. These are really easy quests and shouldn't take you long.

2. Take the "Snowball Dominance" quest from Casey Carpenter.

3. Before, you go into the quest itself, take one necro hero

4. When you are in the quest, flag your necro hero into the mob when they are "allies" and disable the skills in the screenshot. (1-5) (I'm still doing testing as to whether flagging them in the back is better or in the front is better. I find that in the front they tend to ball up into the well when your NPC allies go and fight them... Your hero should die by the way... Oh and the hero usually doesn't stay in the Ice fort as he should because he moves around so don't worry if your hero gets 1 hit.)

5. Stand from afar and start spamming your snowball skills and owning people.

6. If your under pressure or there are multiple people targeting you, run near the entrance of the EoTN outpost.

7. Use common snowball skill knowledge to stay alive, (don't be afraid to eat your snowcone and use your forts)

8. Having them all balled up like this in the well is the best way to have it done.

9. If your a ranger, use your special skill to rain snowballs on bunched up groups.

10. If there are a few stragglers and you and an NPC or two are alive, use your snowball skills to win.

11.Once all the opposition is defeated, map travel back to EoTN and claim your reward.

12. Switch districts and repeat.

Proof of it being done in a minute or so:

Some people have already maxed all their titles or are already very rich or already know about this but I know they are others who want to max their titles in a pretty quick way (this is a little faster than speedbooking) and earn some very nice cash. Thanks for reading!

Do you have to be a necro to do this?

Im doing this with my ranger and a necro hero. Takes more time to take quest, wait for initial dialogue to end, zone back to outpost, take reward, change district and get quest again, than to actually kill the other team.

Are you supposed to micro the hero?

I just flag hero near the closest enemy at the begining of match. As soon as enemy team goes red i cast on hero holiday blues, then ice fort (which is kind of useless cos 99,99% of times he moves out of it and dies anyway) and snowcone. Heros normally dies in less than 5 secs, but holiday blues will still be on for 30 secs. Wait for ur team to advance and use their ice forts. Then get in agro range and just start attacking at most packed groups, at least for ranger. There is ocasionally one or two enemies u will have to drag back to kill cos they didnt mob. But thats the least times. GL with it

Killian can correct me if I am wrong.... but I think you go to the opposite side of the ice /opposite of what will be the 'bad guy' when they turn and kill the good guys you can then pull one at a time and kill them... but yea thats not a speedy way to do it... (honestly i skimmed all the above - my eyes hurt today.)

If anyone else needs help tell me. I can go necro suicide to show how its done but the main problem that people might have is that the hero is retarded and never stays in his ice fort.

I fidn it WAY easier if the necro dies. I don't use snowfort. I micro the hero, use well as soon as red dots come, and use snowcone straight away. THey'll mob him and by the time he dies my team will be there to hold the aggro. Works everytime.

Yea, some people let the hero live by just putting the well there but letting him die is what I do persoanlly. This also works better with 2 humans as the necro human can live without taking damage for 10 secs and the other human can just throw snowballs and win in a minute
