| I don't think I'd like Alaska... I already hate the snow. Lol
Do people not know how to drive in it, John? Is everything effectively shut down because of it? XD |

| Up here in Albany, NY we haven't had anything more than 3 inches since the first week of December. Two Nor'easter blizzards in the past week just passed to the south of us. We got light coatings of snow each time. I still see grass outside my window.
On a related note, the Winter Olympics are in Vancouver, Canada this year and wouldn't you know it, this winter has been one of the warmest on record for them! They go to all that trouble to try and win the city slot for 2010 and this is what Mother Nature gives them.
Weird, weird winter. I was expecting a light winter up here in Albany because of how wet and damp and really not-all-that hot last summer was, but wow. ______________________ |

A little, but it really wasn't that bad today. The roads were fine. I drove 30 miles to work today without incident. The problem is (and this is where your fucking stereotyping comes in) that Texas doesn't usually get snow. We get ICE. Try driving your car on a fucking sheet of ice. And I don't mean patches. I mean sheets of ICE. The temp hovers around 32 so it freezes, melts, refreezes, melts again, refreezes, melts again... You get the picture. By the time the ICE is formed, it's crystal clear, you can't see it, and it's pretty much everywhere. None of this black ice shit. See straight fucking through it. Meanwhile, you assholes up north think we can't drive when it snows a little. Sorry, I get tired of the stereotypical comments about Texas/Texans. |

| It's not just people from Texas, and actually my "stereotype" comes more from places that just don't get much snow in general. I know midwest gets a LOT of ice (as my uncle lives in Kansas... or at least used to) due to the way the air currents are there. Mainly the problem is when areas don't budget for that shit, is why everything shuts down. My sister lives in Cinci, and they shut EVERYTHING down (aka send everyone home from work, school, whatever) when they got like... 4 inches... My sister stayed at work and all the accidents and roads were cleared by the time she was finished. LOL It's shit like that which makes people who get a shit ton of snow laugh and give the "stereotype" of those that don't get as much. |

| lol @ link. yea I agree the conditions in texas for driving compared to california black ice is so different and then in alaska its like everyone shrugs and drives around with no chains and leaves cars unlocked running and or plugged into outlets in parking lots to keep engines from freezing while in a grocery store or something. Its great! miss it. honestly I fell victim to the stereotype... I thought cool texas it'll be warm to hot and get away from all that snow. now its snowed every year since we moved here... my gardens getting kicked to hell with the freeze thaw freeze thaw crud. it sucks. bright side. we made a snow fort, had a snowball fight, made snow angels and a snowman. fun fun fun! now i just need to thaw out. (and probably was a bad idea for me to play in snow since i been feeling pretty sick past couple days, but the boys were having fun and I wanted to too. ) |
