| Mentioned this in another thread, but it bears repeating here:
The producers filmed TOO MUCH "crucial" footage for the series finale coming up in a few weeks, so instead of the finale being two hours long, it's now going to be two and a half hours long instead.
-----------
One of the best shows ever made. Every character on the show is interesting as hell. I've never seen a show that made EVERY character worth a shit, and trust me, this show has a fuckton of characters.
For those who have never gotten into this show, each season takes the storyline in a totally new direction, and to be perfectly honest much of it (still) doesn't make sense and/or seems thrown together, but it's a HELL of a ride. There's a bit of a lull point in the first half of Season 3 that will bore you and make you want to quit watching (made even worse because at that time ABC actually put Lost on a two-to-three-month hiatus before continuing the season), but press on! From the second half of Season 3 until the end, there's nothing but ACTION ACTION ACTION.
-----------
Oh, and Desmond FTW, brotha. ______________________ |

Was that possibly during the writer's strike? |

Nope. Season 4 was a shortened season because of the writer's strike. Season 3 was the last season before it.

Mio, re: the most-recent episode of Lost (shown this past Tuesday):
Things happen. You may not like what happens, but they happen. Once you see it, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about.
The season finale is May 28th, I think. After that in the USA there's going to be a Post-Finale LOST special on the Jimmy Kimmel show. Basically, for those who are caught up with all the LOST episodes, there are two more 1-hour episodes and then the 2.5-hour series finale.______________________

Ah okay. I was just curious about that. I didn't know what season it was, but I knew it was close to that one. XD |

| The writers just had no idea how long the show was going to last and during Season 3 stretched out the storylines too long and the show suffered. There were too many filler, non-eventful episodes in the first half of that season. This was also the last season that LOST started in the fall like most shows instead of in January like it did for its last 3 seasons. From Season 4 on they started following the '24' formula: start in January and show a new episode every week until the finale, with only a couple one-week breaks.
With Season 3 starting in the fall, it just blew its load early and had to take a hiatus. During that hiatus the writers planned out the rest of the show and got the network order for the remaining number of episodes. Things pick up by the end of Season 3 and pick up in a hurry, and then the storyline pretty much doesn't slow down until....... ever. There's been all kinds of shit. Different groups of people on the island, time travel, flashbacks, flashforwards, flashsideways, ancient civilization tie-ins, classic good vs. evil, etc.. The show started out simply as a group of people stranded on an island and over the course of 6 seasons became SO much more in-depth and, for lack of a better word, bizarre. It's a testament that with only 4.5 hours left in the ENTIRE show, that I still have no idea wtf is going on for many of the loose ends, although there have been a lot of answers given this season. There's been a good effort to tie-in many of the plot points together between older and recent seasons, but there's just so much that has happened... ______________________

| Damn writer's strike. I had to wait a whole year and a half between 24 Season 6 and 24 Season 7, because they sat out that shortened seasonal period and waited for the next one (and then waited 'til January to start the season regardless). Pissed me right the fuck off. ______________________ |

| Steve, I was in the EXACT same boat as you. I'm a huge 24 fan, and when the whole thing started going down I was pissed...I was going to college at the time, and that was like the ONE show I watched lol... |

Can't wait for the final ride! Lost 2.5 hour series finale on Sunday, 24 2-hour series finale on Monday! End of an era straight ahead... ______________________ |

| I haven't read any spoilers or speculation, but I think I have a decent idea of what the series finale may bring. I won't post it now, for fear it's true and ruining anyone's day, but I'll be sure to post after the series finale has aired just how close I was. Obviously the events are suggesting one course of events, but if LOST has shown anything with season finales, it's that really crazy and unpredictable shit happens during them, and I really think I've nailed it this time for the final ep. | Steve, go ahead and send it to me in a PM. I don't watch LOST and won't have a clue what it all means. Then, after it airs, I'll copy and paste your prediction here. I just know someone would claim you're lying if you're right. |

| You'll have your PM by the time the LOST finale airs, and probably a lot sooner. If I'm to be authenticated I now want to write it out a bit more concisely than I was going to. It won't be long, just a paragraph or so. Granted, I'm not making predictions about all of the open plots (one of them I have NO idea how the hell they're going to tie it in), but a couple of the main ones.
This will be soooooooooooo awesome if I am right. ______________________ |

| I will not ruin it for you Mio. I think I've nailed what's going to happen (or at least, part of it), but perhaps not. Either way, I'm not going to take the chance and ruin your finale-watching experience Mio. LOST only ends once! ______________________ |
