anyway, absolutely loved the finale and am very glad that Kate and Jack ended up together in the end. Also glad that Sawyer didn't end up as the new Jacob because my friend who hasn't watched lost at all predicted he would and I just couldn't let that happen lol |
Indeed. Lost's characters were incredible. You could make spinoffs from almost any of them/any combination of them and have a respectable show on their own. That's how good their backstories/depth were written and acted. The impact of the reunions in the series finale - every single one - was enough to break down even the most-hardened dude, easily. So well done and VERY emotional! I've read tons of finale user reviews of people who couldn't keep their composure during ANY of those particular scenes.
Speaking of predictions, that pre-finale theory that I didn't bother to take the time to write up had....

| Spoiler: | | | ...Jack dying as the focal part of it. I *totally* called that shit! It was just too predictable that he was going to save the day and live through it that no way in hell did I think he was making it through. Lost ALWAYS throws curveballs in season finales and I figured this one wouldn't disappoint either.
I was wrong about almost everything else though, lol.

| I didnt find the end scene as exciting as most people seem to have found it -at least ones posting in this thread-. For me it was a bit of cliché-ish easy way to get closure. Cant deny though -once pointed that out- that the scene -and specially the character's performance before end scene- was very well acheived. All in all i think it was very good series. Didnt expect either for every little detail to get resolved in the end, and i do agree most important issues were well rounded. | TideSwayer wrote: | Speaking of predictions, that pre-finale theory that I didn't bother to take the time to write up had....

As for predictions...
| Spoiler: | | | ... i did suspected that Hugo Reyes would be the one to follow Jacob´s work on the Island, though i didnt gave much more of a thought about how that would be happening. I like to watch and let myself go with the flow, so i get surprised when things happen. If i think too much about what could happen i may end up not enjoying it that much.
Anyway, that was the only thing i kind of correctly predicted, though i thought Hugo will be taking the job directly after Jacob.
But if i think about it now, it is quite coherent the way it took place. Jake was always trying to fix things. That was what he was good at, taking care of crisis. Hugo was more of a spiritual leader -and u can get a glimpse of his work on how Ben is acting in last scene outside the church-. So getting Jake to fix the Man in Black issue and then leaving the 'easy' task of running the Island 'monster free' to Hugo makes sense in the Island's logic.

EDIT: Oh... and thanx everyone for keeping spoilers hidden |

| Stopped watching LOST midway through season 2.. It got really boring and the story had to many twists for a weekly show. As far as those spoilers, I don't get them.. LOL |
