Our wonderful GW.dat inspectors have done it again, this time scouring the new files added with the May 14th, 2010 Game Update for any new War In Kryta content. Here's what they've found:

Looks like a whole set of War In Kryta weapons, and some sort of Book Of Secrets/Amulet Of The Mists/etc. type of item needed to acquire one. A few other consumable type items too, like new Coffers. (Do I sense a revival of the Coffers Anonymous group if they contain anything good? )

That sword looks awesome, as does that staff skin.

I don't know exactly what might entail getting this stuff, but I know to get to the point where you at least get into the new area of Lion's Arch as well as the new Krytan Asura Laboratory requires an AWFUL LOT of back-and-forth NPC dialogue that you have to sit through (and on every character too, since this is apparently character-based storyline progression). This is going to be hell to do on multiple characters.

Just catching up to where the storyline is already at involves MULTIPLE VISITS TO EACH OF the Hall Of Monuments (to catch all of the Gwen-Thackeray dialogues) and the Shining Blade war camp (to send Evennia up to the Eye Of The North Outpost, Livia to fetch Asura at Rata Sum and return to the war camp with them), as well as making sure you watch Zinn's Trial (started by that NPC just outside Vlox's Falls). If they add anything else before the actual content kicks in then GOD... DAMN YOU ANET. No joke - this stuff takes lots of time to sit through. It's not like a cut scene that you can just skip and move on.

Also, back in Guru's May 14th, 2010 Update thread, somebody glitched their way past the blockading NPCs and walked around the White Mantle-filled Divinity Coast area (previously a mission-only area). Apparently there's an extra spot on the cartographer maps that can be unlocked up there. Presumably, Divinity Coast is where much of whatever interactive content is coming will take place.

I'm extremely confused; is this stuff going to be implemented? Or is it already in the game? If so, was there an update?

WTB info on shining blade ... not too big on mantle weapons, would love to see the blades' weapons, hopefully not generic ascalon bow, maybe a cross between dryad (ivy not naked body) and ascalon bow would work for me... or some twig with a string -shrug-

If you go into your HoM with a character who has completed Eye Of The North and/or the 2009 Wintersday Quests chain (ie. all of the Jingle Moa pet quests), you will see a sequence of dialogues between Gwen and Lieutenant Thackeray where he shows his affection towards her. This involves rezoning into the HoM after each step in the sequence is completed to see the next one. (Tedious as hell.) Near the end of the Gwen-Thackeray dialogue conversations, Thackeray sets up a picnic date with Gwen and then is in need of various items from you in order to impress her on it as much as possible (in his eyes). This is also known as the "Thackeray Scavenger Hunt". He will be standing outside of the Eye Of The North outpost in Ice Cliff Chasms to collect these items.

There are four categories of items that Thackeray is looking for: candles, food, drinks, and sweets. Depending on what you give Thackeray for his Scavenger Hunt, you will receive either a Paper-Wrapped Parcel or a Sack Of Random Junk in return. Paper-Wrapped Parcels are given for Thackeray's optimal item (and likewise, contain better rewards for you). Sacks Of Random Junk are given for items that aren't optimal for a given category, but acceptable nonetheless. The list of optimal and merely acceptable items is located on the Official Wiki page for Thackeray's Scavenger's Hunt.

You will need to meet certain requirements for the Thackeray Scavenger Hunt in order to move on in that storyline. If you don't give him an optimal item for any given category (Votive Candles category excluded, as they are required regardless), you must give him THREE acceptable items from that same category instead.

War In Kryta Updates:

Although unmentioned in the May 21, 2010 update notes (part of ANet's plan to utterly confuse the GW1 playerbase), more of the War In Kryta content has been unveiled. There are actually a few things you can do now besides mindless dialogue-watching, assuming your character has unlocked the Lion's Arch Keep area (which, unfortunately, requires lots of mindless dialogue-watching).



Farming For War Supplies:
War Supplies are an item you can trade inside the Lion's Arch Keep or the Shining Blade Camp for Royal Gifts (15 WS = 1 RG) or Medals Of Honor (25 WS = 1 MoH). War Supplies also function as consumables when out in instances. Double-clicking on one gives you +5 armor and +1 health regeneration for 5 minutes.


War Supplies are obtained from:

* Trading 3 Confessor's Orders for 1 at the Lion's Arch Keep or Shining Blade Camp
* Doing "Wanted By The Shining Blade" Bounties
* Doing Courier Falken Escort Quests

Inside the Lion's Arch Keep there are new War In Kryta-themed bounty quests you can grab, which seem similar to the Zaishen Boss Bounty challenges.



Courier Falken Escort Quests:

Courier Falken randomly spawns in a few various explorable zones in Kryta. If you aid him in reaching his destination (usually a portal on the opposite end of the explorable somewhere), you will get a nice reward consisting of gold, xp, and a bunch of War Supplies.



Royal Gifts And Medals Of Honor:
Inside the Lion's Arch Keep or the Shining Blade Camp, you can trade 15 War Supplies for a Royal Gift or 25 War Supplies for a Medal Of Honor.


Royal Gifts are like Nicholas Gifts, Coffers, etc., in that you get something random out of them. Royal Gifts could possibly give you one of many new minipets, such as this one that ZodiacFear on Guru got:



Keep in mind that you can get lesser-valued items from the Royal Gifts as well. (I got an awesome Superior Identification Kit. Go me!)



The purpose of Medals Of Honor hasn't been revealed yet, but it's a pretty safe bet that they're going to be used for obtaining the new War In Kryta Weapons.

There are new greens that drop from White Mantle Bosses and I guess mobs too.

I think we have a new top-dog skin for daggers (although the mods aren't all that hot on this particular green). HOLY SHIT!

The SHORT WAY to get into L.A. Keep for the bounties and new collectors:

-Recruit MOX, then go watch the trial outside Vlox's Falls.
-Run to the Shining Blade camp and watch all dialogues (about 3) up to when Blim shows up with GOX. When he is done you can enter into LA Keep. You will have to rezone in-between dialogues and actually be in the camp for the full dialogue.

The Law and Order daggers were already posted. There is a Divine Favor wand/offhand set with one named Peace and the other named Harmony (Peace and Harmony). There's a fast casting-linked astral staff (skin normally doesn't come in FC) called The Rapture. There is a green bow called The Adjudicator which is a Bonus Mission Pack Mursaat recurve bow skin dyed red with some orange mixed in. I love the new scythe green's name: The Long Arm Of The Law. (No pic of skin yet.)

Mods on most of these greens don't seem too attractive.

	During camp dialog with Zinn, I noticed they said something about a lab so I followed him all the way to the river where they poofed, which is in the wiki dialog note, however if you return to the river there is a Secret River Passage next to the collector. you click it and zone to Divinity Coast Explorable aka zinn & bimms lab. if you havent seen it its a small place to explore. have fun!
