Just wanted to get a poll on which, Ele or Nec, is better and reasons why and suggestions on builds, and other activities to do with them. I will not make either for a lil bit, i wanna see which will help down the long run, also which FoW set is better ? Just post comments, builds, ratings, armors, anything to sway my vote to either one.

Not much farming you can do with a Necro. An Ele has lots of solo-farming opportunities, plus its build diversity is unmatched due to its energy pool and the fact that 12 in most attributes is more than powerful enough for manhandling (not man-fondling) PvE. You can be an Ether Renewal Ele and outheal Monks. You can bring damage skills and like, deal damage and stuff. You can get nuts like me and abuse your secondary profession to its fullest.

Seems whenever I use my Necro I'm always using practically the same skillbar, and that bores me. Not to mention heroes run Necros better than they run Elementalists sooooooooo.............


As for FOW armor, tough call. I don't really like Ele FOW armor but it's popular. Necro FOW armor is really good IMO but many don't like it. I'm not a FOW armor authority by any means. I don't like most FOW sets.


It's a tough call. It depends on what you want to do: throw hexes and abuse corpses or deal damage and work with party support.

Tbh its personal preference.

Ele's are better for straight up damage (lightning hammer <3) and are also decent support chars because of their energy pool.

Nec's are decent damage but are amazing support characters with a wide variety of builds. However except for Orders heros run most bars better (necrorit healer, MM, etc).

Overall its your style of play. If you like huge numbers then go ele, if you like mobile armies then go necro.

As for fow sets, ele wins. Male necro fow fails and female is just eh.

I know its personal prefrence, I have played both ele and nec, but they always end up deleted. The thing is on my second acc i have an ele and nec and i love both alot, so i want to make one more char and im trying to decide, so thanks for the posts so far, id like more cuz now they are kinda tied, but ele might have pulled ahead from steve's post

I Prefer Ele's Becuase they do huge dmg {Savanah Heat and Searing Flames } Necro's do have Spiteful Spirit but i don't like it as much hexes can always be removed and energy management amongst both classes is fairly equal {Ele's have large pool and attunement spells, Necros have Soul Reaping}

Now FoW Armour i think is pretty close both are pretty bad ass imo.

Yeah, they are both able to do alot but they are very different, i think im going to go with nec, but i am still wanting some more opinions, but im thinking necs are more of what i want to play, thanks for the thoughts on this topic, fill free to try and change my opinion though

Well depending on your interests. Eles have far more use in speed clears as tanks, such as UW. Necros have better tightly balled aoe spike power. but eles aoe range is larger but dont get energy as fast because of the lack of soul reaping

On a standard playing aspect. I can tell you that i had way more fun pushing my necro thru campaigns over my ele. Trying new builds with AP and what not was really funn.

Yeah see thats what im thinking ele's may have more SC capabilities, but i have enough chars that can do that. I also seemed to have more fun when i did stuff with my old nec. Ok, im pretty sure that i've decided on nec, so does anyone have some ideas for a name? I will list the name of my other chars, most have "Spiteful" in them, but if some one has a funny/cool name without that then sure, ill try it.

I'd go for Necro I'm no fan of Eles. FoW armor for Necro is awesome though Vabbian(female) is 1000 times better and Ele FoW is hideous IMO. As for the build yes theres a lot you can do with Ele like tanking, spiking, healing, snaring, AoE, and what not. Necro on the other hand you got energy drains, degen(tons of it) and of course MM, which most people claim heroes are better at it only because they focus on death nova and jagged bones, and we all know theres a lot more to MM than that(Mark of Pain and Barbs). also you got Flesh Golem which most people hate or claim is a noob skill when in reality, use it with barbs and trust me, is another story. Also you got supports like orders and wells which are extraordinary in PvP. As well as the always handy SS, either in PvP or PvE that vuild is deadly. And last my own build with is a spike with Toxic Chill, you can beat whatever with that in PvP and PvE. So overall both classes are great, again like others have said is a matter of taste but IMO Necro if you know hoe to use it has way more uses than Ele specially in PvP. Yes, most people wont agree and will go for the Ele, but in 90% of the cases they don't know how to really use Necros or just use/know SS build.
