So i'm decent with computers not great but i usually fi most problems that occur, but today number one comcast randomly shuts off our phone which for some reason screws up our internet too but with my laptop when our wireless goes down i usually surf off the neighbors... but this time for whatever reason i could connect to the neighbors but had no internet acess so i run the trouble shooter and all that finally i run diagnostics on my "Dell Wireless WLAN Card" and it tells me that my interernet Ip Ping fail the test and that basically my laptop couldn't connect because it couldn't find an IP adress?

So my question is how do i prevent this from happening since i think i fixed it but i don't know what i did to fix it? or how do i prevent this from happening? since
