It will be the equivalent of ~$300 U.S. dollars in Japan. Electronics are more expensive in Japan than they are in North America.
Still, it won't be that much cheaper over here, which is what has me a bit pissed off. I was hoping Nintendo was going to pull out all the stops and keep it under $200. I'm willing to bet it launches over here for $249, which IMO is still too expensive. I was interested in buying one on Day 1 but not for that price.
Nintendo is packing in a bunch of stuff with the handheld, but that's still too much. I'll wait. Knowing Nintendo's success in the handheld market, it will be around for quite a while anyways. They are going to sell original Gameboy/Gameboy Color/Gamebody Advance over their Virtual Console store for it, which is pretty cool.
