New Forums Banner Submissions:

Our current banner is great, but we've had it for a few months now and it's about that time for something new to freshen things up a bit. I invite anyone with graphic design interests to design and submit a custom-made banner of their own. If anyone comes up with something that REALLY stands out then we'll go with it.

Currently I'm working on livening up our Portal page a bit, adding some extra buttons, color, and what-not, so unfortunately I won't be able to work on a banner at the current time.


Banner Specifications:

1. Make sure the size is no greater than 1000x300 dimensions.

2. Either have it say 'ECTOs Community' or 'We Farm Your [ECTOs]'. The ECTOs part can be in either English as formatted here or in the original Korean font. Whatever works for whatever you are going for.

3. Please keep it Guild Wars-themed if at all possible.

Meh, just noticed it ain't big enough, but anyways, just a sample. Be sure to post your own banners. And Steve, you're better than me doing this stuff so feel free to enhance the "Forum's Banner" thread.

It's supposed to have all 8 professions but they're not revealed yet, so, in the mean time, you get the idea.

Heres the first of mine. I plan on making a few more but we'll see how it all goes.

Cujo, I love the dragon image you used as the background. Not too keen on the text part though. I like where the text part is, but I think it's a bit small and the purple color doesn't stand out enough. The font is alright.

I felt like something was off about the text as well, Ill see if I can make it better. Do you like more minimalist/futuristic fonts?

Maybe try some mist or fog brushes to give it some depth? I like how you took out the dragon and added the dude though

mmkay, im just trying to stay away from Glow on this one. i want to use as little as possible yanno?

Heres my next attempt. i added some mist/fog to it. other than that, i think its great. the positive and negative space is perfect, and the text flows well with the picture as well. only thing i can think of is different colors on the text? otherwise, i like it.

If your trying to avoid glow then why is the background behind the rocks an eerie glowy green? O.o

Nothin special, the gold probably doesnt match well but Im not sure. Might mess around with it more but this was only a tester to get back into working with photoshop so it doesnt matter much anyways.

now, i mean glow effect from Ae, its just the color gradient that does that. thanks! lol.

It looks great with the mists though. The text seems a bit out of place, but then again maybe it just always does with me lol

I like this the best so far, though I would suggest making the text more solid. Its our banner at the top after all, the shade of the text right now just seems to make it too drab? Idk, keep up with this design, (bada ba ba baaa) Im lovin it

Oh just one thing, change one of the Norn for an Asuran so it has all 5 professions.
