Hey,

I'm bored at work and am curious to see what everyone is thinking about playing as in Guild Wars 2.

There will be no mesmer. Sorry Blood *Man hugs*
I want a Guardian but I think I'm going to have to find out when I play the game. Smile

Not sure if you're taking the piss, but this is a misconception IMO. This concept art was revealed with the Necromancer, Guardian and Thief's concept arts used for their official pages on the official site (which each also have similarities to their "shadows" artwork) at the GDC 2010 slideshow before any of them were revealed, and one of the final two professions are a returning profession from GW1 (and I think it's likely it would be the mesmer over the assassin [pretty much the thief], ritualist [unlikely but I would love this too], paragon [aspects similar to the Guardian], monk [confirmed not to return] or dervish[no scythe weapon type in original GW2 release]) and Mesmers have been mentioned multiple times in the GW2 novels as well as the use of "illusion magic".

Of course, it's not confirmed, and the profession that will be revealed this month could be the third adventurer profession but I think it is likely to return rather than confirmed not to return.

Anyway, I plan to make a Thief and Mesmer (if it returns) for sure (Assassin and Mesmer were two of my fave GW2 professions) and if the third adventurer class plays similarly to a Ritualist then I will definitely play it.

I will admit the Ranger does look sexeh. Yeah Zi, it seems that a lot on the return of the Mesmer (or something similar if not the Mesmer specfically). I think it would be ridiculous for them not to return it, as it is a relatively orignal class which set it apart form other MMOs

I hope and think that they'll show it last Smile

If it's going to be like WoW which it is then it's instances and you need 1Tank, 1Healer and 3DPS. The Healer could be the Guardian, The Tank could be Guardian or Warrior and DPS everything else

Yeah, I think it will be more so like WoW in that case. The open world style all tends to do the same sort of thing with Dungeons/Instances/Raids. So I would say the chances are pretty high that it will be more so like that. Theif is still legit though.

Haters be hating on my elementalist too, and it clearly just shows you haven't really read the profession page. Since they're going to be hell'a good support characters with ability to buff damage(Conjure Spells can target allies), protect with auras(Like Static Field shown on profession page [appears to be aoe stun]), and/or open a can of whoop ass just like they do in GW1.

And the ranger looks like full on bad ass people who think that warriors will be throwing down the melee dps i believe are hugely mistaken and that they'll become a sort of frontline tank imbagon. On the profession page they show the ranger having the ability to get in close, dodge, attack, dash out. I mean get in close deal some dps and get out before target can hit you? whats not to love? Also i'm willing to bet even though it hasn't been shown yet that you'll be able to auto attack while moving. I think they'll end up being a ninja with THREE pets and a bow.

Engineer sounds fucking lame especially when you compare it to the other professions that have been released. Who wants a profession that fixes shit? "Beware dragon I'll fix you!"

saw page on gw2... and first off it looks horribly incomplete. second, just doesn't look as cool as other professions. third call it what it is a gunner class, for all those whiny bitches who wanted one once they saw that gw2 would have them.

I also refuse to ever make one through out the whole of guild wars 2
