I noticed that the Indie Royale Xmas Bundle is lasting for 14 days this time instead of the standard 5 their previous bundles lasted for. I wonder if that long duration coupled with the "Xmas" moniker means there will be a extra bunch of bonuses this time?
Regardless, I decided to buy in. This afternoon the price on it dropped to the low $3 range so I said what the hell. I don't think there are any Steam games I am interested in buying atm anyways, so whatevs on holding out for the Steam holiday sale.

That's what usually Valve does as well. :-( I bought Orcs must die! - which is a cool game - about 2 weeks ago. Last weekend it was even more cheap.
And that's what Valve did last Christmas as well. 50% on most games during the holidays, then 75% on the most popular of those games... Fucking salesmen. I feel scammed.

Just like GW has people scrounging through the GW.dat file for new files/adds/etc., Steam has people scrounging its registry for updates as well. Getting to the point, the games for Humble Bundle 4 - coming soon (rumor is next week!) - have been added to the Steam registry. Here are the evidence pics of the games to be included:
Here are the standard Humble Bundle 4 buy-in games. These and NightSky, which is the bottom game cut off by the scroller. LOOK AT THAT LIST!
Here are the "beat the average price" bonus games for the Humble Bundle 4:
The average price for this bundle is going to be like $10, lol. What a roster of games!

SHANK! CAVE STORY+! YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES. I already have Super Meat Boy and GSB, so that's a bit of a bummer but I'll definitely be buying anyway, especially if SMB is the soundtrack edition.

Cave Story is, like, THE original indie game. I tried it a bunch of years ago so I'm definitely looking forward to the + edition. I was waiting on Super Meat Boy to go on sale (missed it when it was first released) so I'm definitely stoked about that. It's been a while since I've had the urge to throw my controller at the wall and I have no doubt that game will bring those feelings back (from what I heard about its difficulty).
Jamestown is a really cool shoot-em-up game from what I've seen/heard of it. Doesn't support LAN multiplayer, only local co-op though, IIRC.

One person's thoughts on the current offerings of the Indie Royale bundle (Blackwell series, Eets, Dino D-Day, and The Oil Blue).
If the upcoming Humble Bundle interests you, keep an eye out. The data miners found the game icons uploaded, so it's a pretty safe bet that the bundle could appear for consumption at any time: 5 minutes from now or 2 weeks from now.

Holy shit. NightSky HD is there. NightSky was originally only in small resolutions with no window resize ability! I got hooked on NightSky when I got it in the Indie Royale Difficult 2nd Bundle. Played the Normal campaign to completion, found all of the hidden stars, and then beat the bonus level. I still have to do the Alternative course, but I shouldn't have much problem. I am a pro at rolling that marble. I'm someone who used to love the Super Monkey Ball games and the old 80's arcade/NES classic, Marble Madness. These types of games are right up my alley.
Strangely enough, I hate bowling. Go figure.
Just bought Humble Bundle 4 myself. Average price hasn't crept too high yet but it's still at a modest $5 and change. I expect it to go even higher. This is an incredible deal.
Everyone, if you want a GREAT deal (possibly the best Bundle deal ever), go to HumbleBundle.com and check it out! Be sure to beat the average price if you want the bonus games that are already included. Everyone who buys in (for whatever price) will get whatever bonuses are added after your purchase.
(Now, to get around to filling out the main post of this thread...)

Ah, it's a sneak peek of an early build of the NightSky HD that's coming out as a FREE PATCH to NightSky owners sooner or later. Good enough for me. I can be patient. Hopefully it is finished soon and released to the masses.

Be the first to try the forthcoming free update to NightSky, NightSky HD! Try the first builds of NightSky HD available on the download section of your key page or feel free to download the traditional version of NighSky on Steam.
Also, in the 'great indie game soundtracks' department, NightSky's soundtrack certainly qualifies. So relaxing while you marble roll.

Started playing Super Meat Boy a bit and it kicks ass. I love that it keeps best times. I'm a sucker for time attacks. In all fairness I have a couple of gripes with Super Meat Boy, but nothing that is a real deal-breaker: random bouts of choppiness for no reason at all that can sometimes screw up a run, the game has actually glitched out for me a couple of times leading me to have to restart the game itself, and no in-game ability to customize your controls (although you still can by modifying the buttonmap.cfg file in the install folder). The latter is a flat-out no-no in this day & age.
Less than a day into the 2-week timeframe, Humble Indie Bundle 4 is already over 180,000 sales and nearing the $1 million intake mark. Wow.
EDIT: Well over $1 million now and nearing 200,000 sales!

Awesome. The Super Meat Boy soundtrack is great.
I haven't gotten around to playing Bit.Trip Runner yet (plan to though!), but I watched the trailer movie on the official Bit.Trip Runner game page, and I liked what I heard there.
Speaking of Bit.Trip Runner, I love how it's a homage to the old-school Atari days graphics in parts. Hell, that little rainbow trail that he leaves behind as he runs is no doubt influenced by the artwork on the old Atari 2600 Activision game Pitfall. (The gold bars he collects in the trailer video are stylized from Pitfall as well.) If anyone remembers, I used to use the artwork from that as my avatar (and plan to in the future too):

Some Impressions Of A Couple Of Humble Indie Bundle #4 Games:
Bit.Trip Runner: Fun game, but I fear it will drive me to kick puppies and forsake gods if I remain committed towards progress in it. Some of the levels, even in the early-going (which is only as far as I've made it to), are waaaaaaaaaaay too long. One mistake = start the entire level over. Rage inducing when you fail, but it feels oh-so-good when you succeed. You can't remap the default buttons (BIG NO-NO!!!) but the keyboard controls are decent enough for it.
The main character reminds me a lot of Plankton from Spongebob. In reality, he's influenced by the old blocky Atari 2600-days character graphics.
Jamestown: Great game. Takes a bit of practice to get the hang of. Some of the achievements are fucking ridiculous. (Beat the highest difficulty without getting hit? WTF?!) I'm usually not a big fan of these 'bullet hell' type of games, and for good reason: they literally fill the entire goddamn screen with bullets and the game becomes a dodge 'em affair more often than not, especially in higher difficulties. Not really my thing. That's just a characteristic of this game genre overall, so I won't hold it against Jamestown in particular.
Jamestown has awesome sprite-based graphics, a very inspiring soundtrack, a weird storyline that's a cross between settling The New World and... Martians, an easy-to-learn score combo system, different ships to use, and lots of various modes.
One last thing:
FUCK THE LUGE
Get your asses to humblebundle.com and get this bundle if you haven't. For those feeling stingy, you can literally pay 1 cent and still get the main games.

I bought the Jamestown 'Gunpowder, Treason, and Plot' DLC which is 50% off in the Steam Holiday Sale (from $2.99 down to $1.49). The Jamestown DLC gives you a few extra ships you can play as and some added bonus challenges. Here are the new Jamestown ships being shown off on video:
I wouldn't be surprised if the Jamestown DLC was thrown in as a bonus for the Humble Indie Bundle #4, but I won't regret being out $1.50 if that's the case.

Still haven't gotten around to playing it myself, far too much GW to be playing at the moment for me! I guess you can say I've played Super Meat Boy given that I had it before the bundle, but whatevs. I'll definitely be giving Jamestown and Shank a go soon, but probably not before all of this christmas stuff on steam is over.

You should at least install Jamestown to get the Steam holiday achievement: beat any level with the Charge ship. (Normal-Level 1 will do.)
I unlocked the 'Judgement' difficulty tonight in Jamestown. Bullet hell, you say? This is the hell that bullet hell is afraid of going to when it dies! Screen is literally filled with bullets. FILLED. I can't even get off of the first stage on Judgement, and with most ships I end up having to use a continue in about 15-20 seconds! I wish this game supported online co-op, as I think the ships and levels themselves aren't as balanced for 1P as they could be. Still a fun game though, but I do feel that the game is missing some elements that could make it even better: the ability to gain extra lives and extra shields (beyond the Vaunt one) and extra firepower (would come in handy in higher difficulties in 1P, for sure), more levels, etc.. The difficulty in this game is mostly in part to how gimpy all of the ships are and how little space you have to maneuver on-screen around the bullet rain. Shot patterns for mobs don't seem as intricately planned-out as they could be. At points it seems like only sheer luck would have you survive instead of any kind of developed skill.
I looked in the Steam forum for Jamestown, and it turns out that as of September, only ONE person completed the Gauntlet on Judgement difficulty (Gauntlet is beating all of the stages one right after the other with the same set of continues), and he used cheese tactics that are now nerfed to do it. Pretty obvious it isn't meant to be won by anyone other than Houdini.
I need to get back to playing GW myself. Spent the past two nights playing this instead. I need consumables for my titles, so I better stop wasting time doing other things and take advantage of Wintersday.
Hey guys, we’ve noticed that a number of un-humble users are buying lots of Humble Indie Bundle 4’s for one penny, and then using their Steam codes to “legitimize” automated Steam accounts in order to increase their odds of winning prizes in Valve’s current raffle promotion. This is unfair to legitimate entrants and is definitely not what we wanted to encourage with Humble Indie Bundle 4. It’s a lose-lose situation for the indie developers, charities, Valve, and Humble Bundle.
Therefore, starting immediately, new orders under a humble threshold of $1 will not contain Steam keys.
If you can’t afford a dollar but still need a Steam key and promise not to resell it or otherwise abuse it, please contact our support team with your humble appeal and we’ll purchase a new bundle for you on a case by case basis.
What do you guys think about this change? Is there a better way to help cut down on abuse?
^^ Agreed with the above.
Sometime today extra bonuses for Humble Indie Bundle #4 went live - those bonuses being 5 games from Humble Indie Bundle #3! All bundle purchasers before this inclusion get the games free regardless of price. From this point on you need to beat the average price with your payment in order to get them.
These are the bonus games from Humble Indie Bundle #3 that are now included in #4:
Crayon Physics Deluxe Cogs VVVVVV Hammerfight And Yet It Moves
IndieGala's current bundle has added 2 more chiptune albums as bonuses. Indie Royale's Xmas Bundle has added some game called Elfquest 7 as its new bonus.

Preorder The New Year's Bundle
You can now blind pre-order Indie Royale's New Year's Bundle - which includes PC and Mac versions of all games - at a recommended €/£/$5 to €/£/$10 USD contribution, and a minimum of $3.99 USD.
The titles to be offered will include a premium blend of FPS and RTS (Steam for PC and Mac), an innovative single-player puzzle game (Steam for PC and Mac, Desura for PC, DRM-free PC and Mac download), an award-winning 2D platformer (Steam for PC and Mac, plus an enhanced version for Desura PC, DRM-free PC and Mac download) and a world premiere on PC/Mac for an acclaimed arcade shooter with a twist (Desura for PC, DRM-free PC and Mac download).
Those who optionally pre-order now will get game access as soon as the bundle launches, lock in their price, and receive as a bonus George & Jonathan's raved-about electronic chiptune funk album 'Beautiful Lifestyle' (this bonus is also available to those who pay more than the minimum price during the bundle.)
The New Year's Bundle will launch fully later this week at $2.99 USD and up - watch our Twitter feed or Facebook page for immediate notice at launch time.
The FPS/RTS hybrid has pretty much been confirmed to be Nuclear Dawn (via the Nuclear Dawn devs on their Twitter page over the holidays).
This particular bundle is only going to last for the normal Indie Royale 5-day timeframe, as opposed to the 2-week period the Xmas Bundle ran for.
